The Unseen World…
More, like worlds, Skippy. Like, worlds upon worlds upon worlds, surrounding our world–the normal world–like the rotting layers of some mad onion. All of it, well, unseen. As in, invisible to ordinary humans.
But it’s there. Some of it nestled right up against our world.
In the places where the walls between are thin, we can feel it. We catch the scent of its carrion breath. We hear the thudding heartbeats of the beasts on the other side.
In the small hours of the night, when we toss and turn in our beds, our dreams haunted by monsters and madness…
It’s there. The Realms Unseen.
Sometimes…creatures cross over. Into our world.
Some of them look like us. But they’re not. Oh, no. Definitely not.
Maybe, sometimes, they mean no harm. But usually they do. Because we have the light, and they don’t.
In a city where ocean waves break against a rocky shore…where fog, thick and smothering, steals over streets and houses and jutting towers alike…the walls between our world and theirs is so very thin. A city where threads of power invade, creeping silent and invisible among those who live there. Unseen, but not unfelt. The threads are the chill in the night. The feeling of dread in the shadows. The hazy shape glimpsed from the corner of one’s eye.
The city is tainted by this presence. Yet there are still heroes there. Some more unlikely than others. Some very unlikely.
Heroes…defenders…guardians…
Warriors.
Because war lumbers toward the city and the normal world, driven by the dark forces of the Unseen World.
Will an unlikely, damaged hero be enough to stop them?
If you like your fantasy strange, with a side of weird, plus a dash of offbeat humor, then give Realms Unseen a try. It’s not anyone’s idea of normal epic fantasy.
